  • Dr. Daniel Eby is a highly regarded physician in the field of orthopedic surgery and sports medicine. Serving approximately 10,000 patients per year, the practice of about 25 staff members provides services ranging from joint replacement surgery to physical therapy.

    When it was time to move the health practice’s offices to a larger, more modern location, the management team decided it was time to upgrade the technology as well.

    “We were looking for a partner to help us with reliable phone systems to schedule care, as well as easily manage patient records, and an expert who could help us share records, reports, and xrays to independent practices, separate hospitals and doctor offices,” said Jane Farmer, who manages the practice. “Without reliable communication, patients cannot schedule, resulting in loss of the patient and the future referral of that patient.”

  • Matrix Integration and the management team from Dr. Eby’s practice began planning for the system modernization as soon as possible, to give the practice a running start at its new location.

    In addition to designing and building a Mitel phone system, Matrix Integration built a new Hewlett Packard Enterprise wireless network, a VMware virtualized data center, and updated all of the company’s workstations with the latest Microsoft software and licenses. The team also implemented a comprehensive network security plan, which includes Cisco Firewalls, Cisco Umbrella and Trend Micro Advanced Threat Protection.

    Even after installation, Matrix Integration continues its partnership with Dr. Eby’s practice through a customized MiAssurance plan, which includes around-the-clock support, maintenance, security, and short- and long-term IT guidance.

  • Farmer estimates that working with Matrix Integration saves Dr. Eby approximately $45,000 per year through eliminating a full-time technologist on staff, as well as saving significant amounts of time by using Matrix to coordinate all yearly software renewals and IT issues. Matrix Integration was able to provide reliable and scalable communication and network technology to serve the patients that depend on the practice’s services.
