HJI Supply Chain Solutions, headquartered in Louisville, Kentucky, is a rapidly growing logistics company. With roots as a Tier 1 and Tier 2 automotive supplier, HJI expanded to serve a wide variety of industries, such as food and beverage, consumer goods, and healthcare.
A one-time data breach was a major wake-up call signaling HJI to upgrade both its security and its backup plan. HJI is a critical link in its customers’ inbound supply chain team. If parts or products are late, it could cost HJI and customers thousands of dollars every minute a manufacturing line is shut down.

Matrix Integration immediately provided a cyber forensics team that quarantined the breach, cleaned it from the system, and identified the source. Within 24 hours, several servers were up and running again, and within three to five business days, operations were completely back to normal.
However, those few days were too long. HJI leaders handled it by being completely transparent with long-term clients about what had happened as well as how they were fixing the problem. In the long-term, they wanted to ensure they would never have that amount of downtime again, so together with Matrix Integration, they planned next steps, which included the installation of robust backup and recovery software as well as creating an offline replica of each and every server as well as all data and all databases.
